Business Plan - Section 1 Executive Summary

The Retail Market Design Service (RMDS) is the "ringfenced" function within ESB Networks responsible for all aspects of the retail electricity market design on behalf of the Commission for Energy Regulation. The budgetted cost for 2008 was €1.54M, the actual cost was €1.13M. The budgetted plan for 2009 is €1.34M.

RMDS is required to submit an annual plan and expenditure to the Commission for approval. From 2007 onwards, this comes within the price review process.
